WORK IN PROGRESS 4

This is a random selection of work done during the second week. It shows further development of the projects. Form is built using the strategy of repetition . Macro_modules found in militar construction are later adapted and used . Modules include either fragments or entire parts of war machines such as trenches, bastions or  siege towers.
Themes commonly related to modular design such as connections, changes in directions of the geometry, and needs of variation are intended to be opportunities for design.
Materials are two commonly used all around Venice: wood and brick
Regarding site, a new function is added in order to the stadiums are embedded and not isolated objects. Projects are located in different places in Sant Helena area
Functionally, the project is the result of the tension between to programs: Soccer and a second function proposed by each group of students.

WORK IN PROGRESS 3

The objective of the first week assignment was to develop the project’s DNA or design criteria that will govern the future decision-making.
The strategy to achieve the mentioned above consisted of a series of language translations from one representation technique to another . Each language or representation technique restricts and potentiates the development of different dimensions of the project such as spatiality, materiality, structure and dialog with the context . Beside this, the process leads the path from the ideal to the real.

Steps:
1 : Isometric representation of and Hybrid resulting from a crossing of a Fortress and a Soccer Stadium (parts taken from a common field: Google Sketchup Library)
2 : Translation of the Isometric to a physical model done with materials at hand.
3 : Photographies of the model following David Hockney`s Techniques.
4 : AutoCAD 2D Drawing of the Photography.
5 : Photomontages done using photographies of the model .
6: Site model

Next Steps will consists in integrating these different perspectives in one single project keeping radicalism and consistency
